Marco Leone was born in Naples in 1959. Unlike his esteemed colleagues, he did not come from a family of pizza chefs, but the passion for cooking and Neapolitan pizza was already in his DNA.

At the age of 20 he founded "Papè Satan" with his brother in Santa Teresa di Gallura in Sardinia, during these years it became an established restaurant and pizzeria and received recognition and mentions from the main guides such as "Gambero Rosso" and "Lonely Planet".

Marco Leone believed in Neapolitan pizza right from the start and was lucky enough to learn the art of pizza making at "Antica Pizzeria di Michele" as his father was close friend of Tonino Condurro, one of the historic owners and founders of the renowned Forcella pizzeria in Naples.
